Dominate every corner

The WRX STI’s handling has been forged in the brutal terrain of rally and perfected through experience. Precision, responsiveness and engagement are key to accurately handle this beast. A new chassis design, focused aerodynamics and an even quicker steering ratio than the WRX, has all contributed to the unparalleled level of agility and handling. The Driver’s Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD) also allows you to tailor the torque split between the front and the rear wheels for even greater handling response.



Fresh, aggressive and unmistakable body style

The new generation STI’s exterior styling is designed to turn heads and quicken heartbeats. This aggressive design not only improves performance, but also practicality and safety. The new design resulted in an even lower centre of gravity for improved control and the shifting of the A-frame provides a bigger interior and more rounded look. The legendary, accentuated rear spoiler, hood scoop and STI logo leaves no doubt as to what it is and what it was built for.



Engineered for ultimate performance

Under the aluminium bonnet of the new WRX STI sits the source of its breath-taking performance. A 2.5l turbocharged Subaru Boxer® engine generating 221kW of power and 407Nm of torque provide electrifying acceleration. Performance can also be modified by selecting one of three SI-Drive options for differing levels of response. The engine also benefits from the Dual Active Valve Control System which ensures a flat torque curve over a wide rev range. You harness all this power with a quick-shifting 6-speed transmission that keeps you in control.



Purposeful body design

The modern and aggressive design not only represents the ultimate sports car but also contributes to more precise handling, improved fuel consumption and the overall safety of the new WRX. More focused aerodynamics is also achieved with the new design and accentuated by the purpose-built rear spoiler.


Hands always on the wheel

The leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel features controls for audio, Bluetooth hands free and cruise control, meaning both hands can remain on the wheel as often as possible.

Uniquely sporty wheels

Giving the Subaru WRX STI a distinct sporty look, stylish wheels come standard in 18” aluminium alloy rims in eye-catching gun-metallic.

  • Leather interior

    The roomier, more luxurious, jet-black interior offers chrome accents, performance-designed leather sports seats with red stitching and a leather-wrapped, D-shaped, sports’ steering wheel.

  • High Beam assist HID headlamps

    For increased awareness and visibility, the STI features High Beam Assist (HBA). HBA can automatically toggle between high and low beams depending on road conditions such as speed and oncoming traffic, enhancing visibility for you, and other drivers as well.

  • Keyless entry and push-button starting

    Full keyless access with push-button starting means operating your WRX STI is that much simpler. Enter by simply grabbing the door handle and lock with the slightest touch of your finger – while your keys stay safe on your person.

  • Electro-luminescent sport dials

    The electro-luminescent and sporty instrument cluster provides improved visibility and a more three-dimensional feel. The red lighting with 4 needles were also maintained from previous models for that STI feel.

  • Auto light and rain sensor

    Automatic light-sensing headlights and rain-sensing wipers means the Subaru WRX STI takes care of the small things for you.

  • Electric powered folding mirrors

    Electric powered folding mirrors not only provide convenience when parking in tight spots, but also enhance overall aerodynamics with reduced drag.

  • Quad exhaust outlet

    Combined with the bumper design, the extended tail pipe length provides an impressive rear shape suitable for a true sports sedan. It provides the perfect accentuation of the sporty look that sets the STI apart from its competitors.

  • MFD with boost gauge

    Various key information is immediately accessible via a 4.3” multi-function display unit, including a boost pressure gauge to keep tabs on your turbocharger.

Safety equipment in every direction

From bumper to bumper, the Subaru WRX STI is loaded with safety equipment. The body has been designed around Subaru’s Ring-Shaped Reinforcement™ principle, a design which allows all other safety systems to provide ultimate passenger protection, including seven airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors and three-point seat belts.


Electronic safety aids

With the likes of ABS with EBD and Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) with Active Torque Vectoring (ATV), the Subaru WRX STI is always on high alert to keep you on the road – be it tarmac or dirt.

Brembo Brakes

The ultimate name in high-performance braking, Brembo produces uncompromisingly powerful brakes that can take the punishment of hard driving. Large callipers and vented discs will give you an extra level of precision and control as you take your WRX STI to the limit.

Crash-absorbing structure

The Subaru WRX STI’s structure is also designed to take as much of the impact away from occupants as possible. Crumple zones, strategic chassis reinforcement and the addition of high-tensile steel aid in reducing impact forces.

When an accident is inevitable, the Subaru WRX STI collapsible drivetrain has been designed to drop down beneath the vehicle, minimising its potential impact with- and intrusion into the cabin.

High Boost Boxer® turbo engine

Unique to the Subaru brand, every Subaru vehicle is powered by a Boxer® engine. Nicknamed so due to the punching action of its horizontally-opposed pistons, Boxer® engine design results not only in superior power delivery and the typical Subaru thrum in the exhaust note, but also a smooth, balanced drive, playing perfectly into the hands of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™.

Few motors have the same reputation for pure excitement on any road as the 2.5-litre of the WRX STI. It flawlessly fuses raw power with total poise as its turbo spools almost instantaneously and unleashes power for intense acceleration. Proven over the years its performance has been made only more thrilling in the new WRX STI.



Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™

A Subaru hallmark, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ realises a completely symmetrical drivetrain, with power being split between the front and rear axles, as well as the left and right sides of the car. Managed electronically, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive™ is also able to determine exactly how much power each individual wheel receives, ensuring that the wheels with the most grip receive the power.


Active Torque Vectoring

This new technology helps make handling more precise, whilst allowing you to push your vehicle closer to the limit. As you enter a corner and lateral g-forces take hold, the system can route power to select wheels to help you keep your intended line. This means that your WRX STI responds to your steering input more immediately.



SI-DRIVE

Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI-DRIVE) provides you with different driving modes to suit your mood and conditions. Save fuel in Intelligent mode, select Sport mode for a more linear response in all conditions or sharpen up with the most direct throttle response in Sport# mode.



Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD)

The DCCD allows you to dial in the centre differential locking of the WRX STI and thereby shape its handling. It adjusts the Limited Slip Differential (LSD) to apportion the torque to front and rear wheels. Auto mode finds the ideal power distribution for changing conditions, whilst Auto(+) keeps more power up front. Auto(-) keeps more power in the rear for tighter cornering. The six-step Manual Mode also lets you lock in your preferred handling characteristics.
