Active Safety
The Outback’s list of active safety features is impressive: ABS/EBD/BAS and Hill Start Assist. Then there is Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a stability control system, which automatically senses steering and braking inputs to help keep the vehicle on the driver's intended path.
These features work in conjunction with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, which Subaru pioneered over 40 years ago. Combined with VDC, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive optimises tyre traction and provides drivers with exceptional control, balance, grip and handling improving driving enjoyment at every turn.
These and other features have enabled the Outback to achieve five-star rating for occupant safety from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), five-star overall rating in the European New Car Assessment Programme (ENCAP) and a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the USA, making the Outback the safest car Subaru has ever built.
