Passive Safety
Thanks to its impressive array of passive safety features, the Tribeca has earned a cabinet full of safety accolades.
Just three are a 5-Star occupant safety rating from the Australian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP), a 4-star rollover resistance award from the United States Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Programme (it’s the only SUV to have achieved this award) and a 5-star rating in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s frontal and side-impact crash test for both driver and passenger seating positions.
These awards come thanks to the standard inclusion of features such as active headrests (driver and front passenger), six airbags (dual front, dual front side, curtain front and rear, front seatbelts (with pretensioner and load limiter), rear door child locks, ring-shaped reinforcement frames and a roll-over sensor, seatbelt warning lights and sound (for the driver & front passenger, a shock absorbing brake pedal, three-point A/ELR rear seatbelts and child seat anchor points.
